Der Tiger - volume 2 - Schwere Panzerabteilung 502
Volker Ruff’s long-awaited second book on the Tiger tank units – this time the s.Pz.Abt 502. As the first tank unit deployed with the Tiger, s.Pz.Abt.502 saw in action in the Leningrad area at the end of August 1942. Illustrated with 100+ contemporary photographs of the first Tigers in action, around the Leningrad Ladoga sea front line, from the Ladoga battles, Baltic area Narwa, Pleskau, Dünaburg and Newel are be shown in the book. Dual language English & German.
The heavy tank division 502 fought on the battlefields in Russia. As the first unit equipped with the new Tiger armoured combat car, the division was sent to the Leningrad front and had its first deployment there at the end of August 1942. Further battles will follow on the Leningrad front and the Baltic countries.
The second book "DER TIGER" documents the operational history of this unit in chronologically ordered documentary image sequences, in the field, maintenance and operations. The footage is
